Bamzi's Story

About Bamzi

As a child, I often felt emotions I couldn’t name—frustration, sadness, excitement—but no one around me had the knowledge to help me understand them. Like many kids of my generation, I was left to process these feelings on my own. Toys became my escape. Playing with Legos, rolling toy cars across the floor—I wasn’t just passing the time. I was creating stories, imagining worlds, and without realizing it, I was figuring things out in my own way. That’s when I realized—imagination is everything.

2015 – My son and me. Mountain View, California

Years later, when I had my own son, I saw something amazing. His aunt gave him a set of wooden eggs, each with a different facial expression. And suddenly, he had words for his feelings. “Dad, I am sad,” he’d say, instead of just shutting down. Through play, he learned to recognize his emotions and talk about them—something I wish I’d been able to do as a kid. And not only that—playing with toys sparked his imagination, just like it did for me. Watching him, I realized something important—toys aren’t just for fun, they shape the way kids understand themselves and the world.

Why I Started Bamzi

That’s what led me here. With a background in product design and branding, I wanted to create a brand that gives kids more than just toys—I wanted to give them tools to understand their emotions, develop their imagination, and build STEM skills through play.

But as I grew older, I also discovered something else—mindfulness. Learning to be present, aware of my emotions, and navigate challenges with clarity changed my life. And I believe that mindfulness isn’t just something we should learn as adults—it’s a skill that can be nurtured from an early age. Through purposeful play, children can naturally develop mindfulness, learning to focus, self-reflect, and manage their emotions in a way that stays with them for life.

A Startup With a Growing Vision

Right now, Bamzi is in its early stages. We’ve carefully selected our first three educational toys to support children’s development, but this is just the beginning. Every purchase helps us move toward our bigger mission—designing and producing our own unique toys that teach kids about emotions, creativity, and STEM.

This is a small business, and I truly appreciate every single person who supports it. If you’ve made it this far, thank you for being part of this journey. I hope Bamzi brings a little learning and a lot of fun into your home.
